What is Pigmentation?
Pigmentation is simply the colouration of your skin, caused by a substance called Melanin. When your skin is irritated or exposed to triggers like sunlight, heat, hormones (especially during pregnancy or when taking certain medications), or inflammation (like post-acne marks), it goes into overdrive and produces too much melanin in specific areas.
This overproduction is what creates those unwanted patches—from large, patchy areas of Melasma to small, scattered sun spots. We specialize in understanding why your skin is overproducing color so we can safely stop it.
Types of Pigmentation We Treat
Different forms of pigmentation require different treatments. Common types include:
Melasma
Symmetrical brown or grey patches, often seen on the cheeks, forehead, and upper lip
Post-Inflammatory Pigmentation (PIH)
Dark marks left behind after acne or skin irritation
Sun Spots (Age Spots)
Flat brown spots caused by long-term sun exposure
Freckles
Small pigmented spots that may be genetic
Under-Eye Pigmentation
Dark circles around the eyes
Identifying the exact type of pigmentation is essential for successful treatment.

Why Does Pigmentation Occur?
Pigmentation can develop due to several factors, including:

- Genetic tendency
